Luxe Getaways

“Danzante Bay at the Islands of Loreto is a 734-acre master planned resort community on the east coast of Mexico’s Baja Peninsula, near the historic town of Loreto. The community is nestled against the rugged Sierra de la Giganta mountain range, set on one of the most pristine coastlines in the world along the Sea of Cortez, and entwined with a world-class, Rees Jones golf course.” – Taken from Lux Getaway Magazine, December 2016.

Southland Golf

“The resort, which is affiliated with the course and has increased occupancy rates each year, takes gorgeous advantage of the region’s serene beaches, scenic vistas, natural habitats and active opportunities that include fishing, hiking, mountain biking, kayaking, paddle boarding, whale watching and snorkeling near one of the five main Islands of Loreto.” — Taken from Al Petersen’s article in Southland Golf, November 2016.

Nature Takes its Course

“From the signature 17th par-three hole, on the crest of a rocky peninsula that drops off to the sea 250 feet below on three sides, you are likely to spot dolphins, whales or blue-footed boobies. It’s difficult to concentrate on projecting your Titleist over the cliffs and down onto the green, yoked by a horseshoe-shaped bunker, when you are surrounded by such gob-smacking natural beauty. Imagine Sedona’s rocky pinnacles and stately cacti surrounded by a true blue Hawaiian surf.” — Taken from Anita Draycott’s article in Travel Industry Today, November 2016.

Dazzled by Danzante Bay

“This land features dunes, mountains, foothills, desert, arroyos and ocean holes. And the final seven valley holes, set to open in a year, remind you of a Jurassic Park journey. It is very much like an Arizona with giant saguaros (called cardón cactus in Mexico) and rugged terrain minus an unspoiled ocean.” — Taken from David R. Holland’s article in Golf Advisor, November 2016.

Diverse landscape at Danzante Bay Golf Club, Rees Jones’ newest must-play in Baja California, Mexico

“The first course designed in Mexico by renowned architect Rees Jones has only eleven holes opened — the full layout opens in November 2018. The par-3 17th at Danzante Bay Golf Club is truly captivating — ascending a hill to get to the multiple tee positions set along a rock outcropping elevated above the waiting target. The first impression is overwhelming to the senses — the Sea of Cortez shimmering with islands of land situated in the distance.” – Taken from Matt Ward’s article in Grade “A” Architecture, November 2016.

Jones’ latest creation features awesome elevation changes and dramatic mountains-meet-the-sea visuals.” – Taken from Tim Cotroneo’s article in Luxury Travel Magazine, November 2016.

A Visit to the New Danzante Bay Golf Course in Loreto, Mexico

“What sets Villa del Palmar’s location apart is that the resort is situated amidst the environmental splendor of Danzante Bay and the Sea of Cortez. Guests find themselves in the middle of a protected National Park that’s so rich in marine life that Jacque Cousteau referred to its waters as “the world’s aquarium.” Villa del Palmar’s 360-degree mountains-meet-the sea setting provides guests with a bounty of outdoor diversions.” – Taken from Tim Cotroneo’s article in Luxury Travel Magazine, November 2016.

On Saturday November 5th, Danzante Bay Golf Club developer Owen Perry and course architect Reese Jones welcomed friends, family, and a few celebrities, including none other than Lakers legend Byron Scott, for the official grand opening ceremony! We here at Danzante Bay are honored to be a part of this stunning course and very excited to watch the final transformation over the coming months of Danzante Bay Golf Club.

Adam Lawrence visits Danzante Bay in Mexico and sees the beginnings of a remarkable Rees Jones course.

Mexico’s Baja California peninsula, separated from the main part of the country by the Sea of Cortez and the delta of the Colorado River, is nearly 800 miles of the mostly lightly-populated desert, mountain and other countryside.
